Justin Macke has joined Sidley Austin in New York as a partner in the firm’s Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisitions practice groups. Justin advises companies on transactional matters, predominantly in the private equity space but also including matters in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, takeover preparedness, shareholder activism, and proxy contests. He also advises boards of directors of public companies on their fiduciary duties in connection with internal governance matters. Additionally, Justin has significant experience with counseling public companies on public mergers in the face of activist shareholders. “Justin will be an integral part of our global firm and our New York practice as we continue to capture more deals in the PE space and grow our work for public companies,” said Mike Schmidtberger, chair of Sidley’s executive committee.
