Charles Hallab and Tom Thraya have joined Mayer Brown’s Mayer Brown with plans to help the firm launch its first outpost in the Middle East in 2016. Charles will lead Mayer Brown’s Middle East group and international joint venture and strategic alliance practice. He previously chaired Baker & McKenzie’s corporate and securities practice and served on the firm’s management committee and North America oversight committee. Tom, a former leader of Baker & McKenzie’s United Arab Emirates corporate and commercial practice, will now head Mayer Brown’s Middle East corporate and commercial team.
