The placement of environmental partner Joseph Armao with Winston & Strawn in San Francisco. Previously with Heller Ehrman, Armao served as the chair of the firm’s environmental department for many years. His experience ranges from regulatory compliance to environmental litigation and trials in significant cases. Armao won a jury trial in U.S. District Court for the Central District in Los Angeles against the City of Los Angeles which sought tens of millions of dollars from his major corporate client for alleged contamination of the Los Angeles Harbor. He currently spends an increased amount of time counseling clients on the effects of California’s mandatory carbon cap and greenhouse gas issues, along with other land use controls.
